Dec 4, 2009: attended the dinner theatre at the Woodland Cultural Centre. the meal is excellent and generous. I want to rave about the show. it is an excellent presentation of E. Pauline Johnson's life and travels told through the excellent performance of Cheri Maracle. it is fast moving and entertaining yet telling a real life story. I encourage everyone who can make to the show to go and take friends. it an excellent time to take the office staff and friends out for Xmas dinner event. Only a few nights running check out the poster.
This blog is written in anticipation of the upcoming exhibit on the life and times of E. Pauline Johnson.
The exhibit (also entitled 'Faithfully Yours') explores the artistry of E. Pauline Johnson not only in her written & theatrical works, but also in her existence as an independent, creative, Indigenous woman during a time where many odds worked against her success. Thankfully for her readers, those odds were not insurmountable for Ms. Johnson as she is well known today as one of Canada's most celebrated writers.
'Faithfully Yours' will be open for the public to enjoy from August 15 through December 24th 2009, at the Woodland Cultural Centre in Brantford, Ontario.
